Corporate portraits are probably the first pictures of you or your business that your clients will see, so when making your first impression having the right image really counts.
An image, as the saying goes, speaks a thousand words. However, a thousand words can be too many, a corporate image should speak selected words that reflect you and your business.
Below are two portraits side by side. The left hand image is a generic corporate portrait, It is one that is nice enough. One that can be taken by most people with a simple camera against a white wall. It’s OK.
Now the one on the right is one that i’ve crafted. I’ve taken into account pose and light making sure everything works, it’s an image that shows someone who is approachable and has a real charisma and energy.
To demonstrate the power of creating a portrait that best suits your image and your business persona, lets say the guy in the pictures below is the CEO of an international company. have a look at the pictures below and think does this guy look like a CEO, a person that you want your company to do business with, a person who can take your business forward?
Now, look at the portrait below and ask your self the same question, Does this man look like a CEO?
By using pose and lighting I have been able to craft this portrait to show a person who is approachable, determined and assertive.
Check out the rest of the images and think about what they say to you.
I really like to get creative with my work. Making striking and thought provoking imagery is always my goal. When the sitter and photographer both have an end result in mind a greater image is created. You get this collaboration by having a pre shoot consultation and outlining what the client is looking for.
These following portraits are the ones that I have chosen to represent myself. The resulting image demonstrates my creativity and individuality. The main focus of the image is in my eyes ultimately drawing you in but relating to photography by using shadow on my right eye and drawing your attention to my left eye which I use to take pictures.
This may seem over analysing but this is the way of thinking that I adopt consciously and subconsciously to every picture I take!
This very last art image has been created to say something about photography, and how it fits with me. There is a more in depth idea behind it but I’ll leave it to you to figure out!
